Beyond the tales of terror! On a tabletop lies the quaint and curious work of Edgar Allan Poe. Newspaperman. Playwright. Critic. Humorist.

An itty-bitty puppet repertoire of obscure curios, marginalia, and even a couple popular classics from America’s most versatile writer.

Our poetry focused edition of POE-DUNK returned to Alphabet Arts’ Puppets & Poets Festival at The Bushwick Starr.

critic & audience comments

“Kevin Hale is a charming guy who knows his stuff, yet relates in oblique ways that make it fun to learn.”

David Fuller

“...crackling with both the energy of an impassioned Poe aficionado and the leveled, snarky wit of a professor. ”

Sharon Mizrahi
High 5

“Hale still provides one of the most painstakingly-wrought and gleefully-enacted shows of the Fringe.”

Nicole Gluckstern
Stage Rush

““It’s a perfect expression of why The Fringe Festival still, after all these years, allows for the opportunity of greatness.”
Sean Williams

“...this was a delightful performance. ”
